Privacy policy

This notice explains Murmur's research experience, the information involved, and your choices. Murmur is owned by Abdulaziz Almaosherji in Kuwait.

Last updated:

1. Information you provide

Account information includes your email and sign-in details. Optional participant profiles may include a display name, age band, country or region, gender, education, employment, job sector, and self-reported interests and preferences. Studies may ask for age, assent, and guardian permission.

Research information includes your answers, conversation transcripts, optional elaborations, participation history, invitations, consent choices, and completion trophies. Researchers provide study content, workspace information, and transcript corrections. Avoid including unnecessary identifying or sensitive details in answers.

2. How information is used

Information supports account access, conducting interviews, recording research answers, researcher review and exports, invitations, and milestones. Profile-based matching and saving self-reported survey details to a profile require separate, revocable permission.

Murmur does not sell participant data, show advertising, or infer emotions or psychological traits. Current participation is free; trophies and milestones have no cash value.

3. AI and voice processing

Before an interview begins, you must separately agree to AI processing of your answers and voice-mode microphone audio. The interviewer is AI, not a person. Interview text and, in voice mode, microphone audio are processed by third-party AI services through Lovable AI Gateway. The current interview services use OpenAI and Google for conversation, transcription, and speech. Researchers may also submit study content for AI assistance.

Turning off saved audio recording is not the same as turning off voice processing: a voice interview still needs audio processing to understand speech. Choose text mode to avoid microphone audio. Do not share information you are not comfortable having processed for the interview. Provider retention, processing locations, and contractual safeguards should be confirmed with the owner for your study; this notice does not promise zero provider retention or AI-training restrictions.

4. Researchers, service providers, and exports

Authorized members of the study workspace can review study responses and transcripts and export research data. Recordings are available only when recording consent was given. Account-linked participation and profile matching use permission-based access; a survey code is not a guarantee that answer content cannot identify you.

Hosting, account access, and AI delivery involve service providers. Information may be processed outside Kuwait. A researcher may hold separately downloaded copies of study data; ask that researcher about their own privacy notice, use, and retention.

5. Retention and deletion

The study consent screen states the researcher's configured retention period. This is the study's stated policy, not a promise that automatic deletion has been independently verified. Account information may remain while you use your account. Contact the owner for applicable retention periods and deletion requests.

You can withdraw through the interview's Exit control and request deletion of your answers. You can remove saved survey details and revoke profile permissions from your taker profile. To delete your account, open My surveys → Profile → Delete my account. This removes your profile, invitations, trophies, and account-linked answers and recordings. Anonymous interviews not linked to your account are not identified by account deletion. Requests concerning exported copies must also be addressed to the researcher; legal obligations may limit deletion. No fixed deletion deadline or backup-erasure guarantee is made here.

6. Browser storage and technical information

Murmur uses browser storage for sign-in sessions, language preference, and sign-in choices. Hosting and service providers may process technical connection and error information to operate the service. Clearing browser storage may sign you out; it does not delete your account or research records.

7. Young participants

Participation by minors must follow study eligibility, assent, and guardian safeguards. Guardian confirmation in the current experience is self-reported, not independent identity verification. Researchers are responsible for appropriate ethical approval and lawful consent. A parent or guardian can contact the owner about a child's information.

8. Your rights and contact

Contact maosherji@gmail.com to ask about access, correction, deletion, consent withdrawal, or a copy of your information. Rights depend on applicable law; reasonable identity verification may be needed. Do not email passwords, identity documents, or sensitive survey answers. Material changes to this notice will be reflected in its updated date.
